From our Archives: “History of the IWC Portugieser”

Portugal is the nation of numerous incredible pilots and explorers, simply think to Vasco da Gama, Bartolomeu Dias or Fernão de Magalhães – also called Magellan – to name the most renowned. However, this isn’t what propelled the Portuguese name for the well known IWC watch that was presented in 1939 and that today is the most famous and conspicuous IWC wristwatch.  In this article, we venture back to the birthplace of this notorious watch and portray the achievements in its set of experiences.
